Dear patient,
the Facial-Nerve-Centre Jena is a cooperative institution formed by the Clinic of neurology, the Chair of clinical psychology, the Clinic of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology and further cooperative partners within in University Hospital Jena (UKJ). Its general purpose is to treat diseases on an interdisciplinary level affecting the facial nerve (also called the Nervus facialis). Since 2020, the Facial-Nerve-Centre is also an essential part of the Centre for rare peripheral neural diseases within the Thuringian Competence Center for Rare Diseases. Alongside the clinical treatment of our patients the Facial-Nerve-Centre is responsible for coordinating the clinical research concerning facial nerve diseases.
