Impairments and injuries of the musculoskeletal system are the main cause of disability and are age related. By researching diseases and new therapies, we aim at improving the patient's well-being.

We study the biological processes during degenerative and regenerative processes of cartilage, bones, tendons, and associated tissues. Furthermore, we develop new therapies for the prophylaxis and treatment of bone infections.

We deal with basic investigations as well as the practice-oriented development and application of methods for the diagnosis of motor functions and dysfunctions.
