Organization
The general assembly consists of full members with vote and associated members without voting rights.
Full members are research institutions that contribute significantly to infrastructure, personnel or finances of the Center. These institutes host research groups and central infrastructure of the CSCC. Member institutions are represented in the general assembly by the director or a permanent substitute. Full members develop and provide the overarching aims of the Center, elect the Board, and decide on the integration of further institutions as full members.
Individual scientists and clinicians of all career levels are eligible as associated members without vote, provided that they conduct research relevant for the Center’s focus on sepsis and infectious diseases. The Board decides on the entry of associated members. Associated members are actively integrated into the CSCC research network. They regularly receive information on the Center’s activities and invitations to scientific events of the network. Moreover, associated members can be invited to advise the board on specific topics and thus actively contribute to the CSCC’s governance.
The CSCC Board consists of five members, which are elected by the full members and appointed by the Board of the Jena University Hospital. The CSCC Board is responsible for the realization of the Center’s aims and guides the mid- to long-term development of the CSCC.
The Managing Office accounts for the organization of content, structures and finances, considering the overall aims of the Center and supports governance, outreach and career support activities.
The Scientific Advisory Board comprises three internationally renowned scientists, whose research profile fits the scientific focus of the Centre. The advisory board advises on issues regarding strategic development and international collaboration.
