Poster Campaigns

Poster campaigns are a popular and effective for delivering news and content "on the go". In order to achieve this goal, contents must be presented in a concise and memorable way. In this section of the exhibition, we show different approaches to sepsis and infection-related topics.

Hygiene

Hygiene, especially hand hygiene, is an essential part of infection prevention and accordingly of sepsis prevention. The CSCC study Alerts developed a hospital-wide infection prevention program to reduce septic hospital-acquired infections. In this context, a poster campaign was produced in cooperation with the Bauhaus University Weimar to draw attention to the importance of hand disinfection in hospital routine.

Sepsis Symptoms and Awareness

Molly Monroe

The poster concept by Molly Monroe was created as a part of a university project. It uses well known song lyrics to draw people‘s attention to early symptoms of sepsis to facilitate earlier diagnosis.

“Music is a key part of the awareness campaign because people tend to remember songs far better than any other forms of information. It is a very effective way of getting the message to stick.”

Global Sepsis Alliance and World Sepsis Day

The World Sepsis Day infographics were designed by the Global Sepsis Alliance to spread awareness of sepsis and to educate about the disease. The GSA is a non-profit organization to reduce the worldwide burden of sepsis. World Sepsis Day on September 13 is an initiative by the Global Sepsis Alliance and has been established in 2012.

Antibiotic resistance is a growing public health problem. A poster campaign of the University Hospital in Madrid (Hospital Universitario La Paz, Cantoblanco y Carlos III) draws attention to the topic with retro design posters in the style of the 1940s and 50s. The style alludes to the time when antibiotics were first widely used against infections. The aim of this campaign is to inform about the principles of rational use of antibiotics.
