The Faculty of Medicine Jena cordially invites you to the 5th Alumni Meeting, which after the response of the last meeting will again be dedicated to the museums and collections of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena.

The museums and memorial sites as well as numerous collections of the University of Jena reflect more than 450 years of research and science history and make a valuable contribution to the education of young scientists. Take a look at the treasures of the university with us!

Physician in the scholar portraits of the art collection at the University of Jena Custodian Dr. Babett Forste

from 11.00 clock: guided tours to choose:

1. Museum anatomicum Jenense: The collection in the refectory of the former Dominican monastery shows medicinal dissection art from four centuries.
2. Bibliotheca Electoralis: The collection, founded around 1500, forms the historical foundation of the Jena University Library.
3. Schiller's Garden House: Here, parts of the "Wallenstein", the "Maria Stuart" and the famous ballads for the Musenalmanach were created.
4. University Main Building: Built for the 350th anniversary of the University on the foundations of the former Grand Ducal Palace.
5. Fromann's estate: The Custody manages the University's art heritage, including insignia and gowns.
6. Herbarium Haussknecht: With over 3.5 million plant documents one of the largest herbaria in the world.
7. Villa Medusa (subject to change): The Ernst Haeckel House is one of the oldest institutions in the history of science.
