FZL House F4
The house offers jointly usable infrastructures for the research groups located there, which have significantly improved the conditions for research with the construction of the first construction section at the Lobeda hospital.
These include numerous laboratory instruments, such as histology devices, devices for protein isolation and analysis, deep-freeze storage and imaging analyzers.
In addition, the FZL has a versatile practical area of approximately 170m2 and seminar rooms.
FZL House F2
In the building F2 of the Research Center of the University Hospital Jena approx. 3000 m2 of usable space are available for research.
In addition to laboratories and work rooms of the Genetic Safety Levels S1 and S2, stay and meeting rooms, storage rooms and setting facilities for freezers and cryopreservation as well as darkened rooms are offered for special methods of microscopy. In addition to user-specific laboratories, there are generally available laboratories and equipment rooms with a centrally available infrastructure available on each floor.
These include, inter alia, the basic equipment for cell culture, special microscopy techniques, centrifuges, imaging systems, various analyzing devices, autoclaves, refrigerators and freezers.
MTI
The central laboratories comprise six laboratory rooms and can be used by all employees of the Faculty of Medicine.
The laboratories fulfill the prerequisites for genetic engineering of the safety stage S1 resp. S2.
The S2 plant consists of a sluice, a cell culture laboratory with two fully equipped workstations and a microscopy laboratory with an imaging microscope with incubator.
The S1 labs contain spectrophotometric analyzers (fluorescence, UV-VIS, IR) as well as imaging devices and a particle analyzer.
In addition, an ultracentrifuge and a high-performance cooling centrifuge are available, as well as two homogenizers and a Biolistic Transfection System.
All three locations have an electronic booking system for laboratory equipment. The usage time can be reserved for special laboratory equipment (for internal users only):
