The 2017 Annual Meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Immunology was held from September 17-20, 2017 at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel, Downtown Chicago. Bridging immunity with infection, inflammation and implantation for better reproductive health was the theme of this year’s meeting. The Meeting was preceded by a Clinical Symposium which focused on all aspects of reproductive immunology.
With the advancement in discoveries and innovations in reproductive immunology, emerging information shows that there may exist similarities in mechanisms involved in the pregnancy associated immunosuppression to tumor-induced immunosuppression. This potential similarity opens up a new horizon of information exchange and collaboration between the reproductive immunologists in general with tumor immunologists. Therefore, to bring together this new horizon of scientific information and potential collaboration, a scientific session on “tumor immunology” was planned in this year’s annual meeting.
