Welcome to the Placenta-Lab
The international team of scientists and students chaired by Prof. Dr. Udo Markert is active in a broad spectrum of topics around human reproduction and pregnancy. We work on several research projects which include trophoblast research with special regard to non-coding RNA and extracellular microvesicles, breast cancer in pregnancy, ovarian follicles, endometrium, toxicology and alternatives to animal experiments.
Additionally, we offer diagnostic analyses of uterine NK cells and plasma cells to clinics working in reproductive medicine. We are open for cooperation with other researchers and companies (e.g. in the fields of ex vivo toxicology and placenta perfusion).
We offer experimental as well as theoretical projects to motivated students from different disciplines such as biochemistry, biology, chemistry, medicine, nutrion science and others.
