Adjustment modules offered at the beginning of the master programme aim at complementing the students' knowledge in the neighboring disciplines. Modules in this block impart knowledge in human biology for students of physics (P) and chemistry (C), mathematics and physics for students of medicine (M) and biology as well as an introduction to physical chemistry and spectroscopy for students of physics (P) and life sciences/ medicine (M).
Course organization
The interdisciplinary training of students in medicine, life sciences, physics and chemistry is a central goal of this master's degree programme. At the same time it is a big challenge, since students with different knowledge and skills have to be taught.
A practical lab course, during which students can carry out experiments in setups located in the departments of physics, physical chemistry and physiology, allows students in the 1st and 2nd semester to put the theory into practice. A research oriented practical course during the 3rd semester provides the possibility to participate in a current research project of one of the research groups participating in the master degree programme and introduces the student to the topic of his/her master thesis.
