Research fields
The main interest of our group is to investigate the structure-function relationships in ligand-gated ion channels using electrophysiological, optical, molecularbiological and mathematical methods. Thereby we are focused on ligand-gated and voltage-gated ion channels, particularly on cyclic-nucleotide gated (CNG) channels, HCN pacemaker channels and voltage-gated sodium channels. Besides that, we are also studying P2X-receptors, nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and metabotropic glutamate receptors. Some of our projects are integrated in the DFG-funded research units SFB Transregio TR166 ReceptorLight and FOR 2518 DynIon.
