Startbolus Lehre is a mandatory training in Medical Didactics for all new staff. It presents the basics of didactics (e.g. formulating learning objectives, structuring courses), communication (especially feedback techniques) and organizational framework conditions using the example of medical studies in Jena.
Startbolus Lehre in English - How do I start my teaching at the Medical Faculty?
Target Group
The target group for this introductory didactic event are all teaching employees, doctors and scientists, who prefer an English session. Experienced teachers are also welcome to provide new impulses for teaching. The course is compulsory for Module I of the Medical Didactics Qualification MQ 1.

The time is 8 working units (1 working unit = 45 minutes)

Learning Objectives
After completing the Startbolus Teaching course, the participant will be able to
- name and apply evidence-based factors that are effective for learning.
- explain and apply basic medical and higher education didactic concepts (e.g. Bloom's taxonomy, formulation of learning objectives, constructive alignment, course planning with the ZIMT model).
- give and receive evidence-based feedback (using feedback rules).
- develop or outline ideas for the implementation of good patient teaching , or apply the Peyton method.
- classify teaching at the UKJ (curricula) and outline teaching in their own department.
- use the lecturer and student information system DOSIS.
- name or find his/her contact persons at the Faculty of Medicine (including teaching coordinators).
Teaching formats
The following teaching formats are used: Impulse lectures, interactive lectures and discussions, work on whiteboards, reflections, giving and receiving feedback, homework (literature and/or video input), development of an exemplary course plan, lecturer and student information system (DOSIS).
Assignment
The self-study includes the creation of a course plan according to the ZIMT model and/or the examination of one's own teaching.
